We have added some focused agility, balance and coordination drills to our warmup with great success.  The dot drills are great for any level of athlete.  The demand for core stabilility and ankle strength helps improve the athletes ability to stay injury free when playing their favorite sport or during their favorite activity.

There were many Great lifts performed today.  The last time we did our totals was 5/21/09 and Ed has  increased 75#, Eddie increased his total score by 62 points and Jeff increased his total by 25 points.  If you missed today it is strongly recommended you make this up Saturday during 10:15am open gym.  We need to establish performance reference points in order to help track our athletic progress.

1)  CrossFit NLP will be hosting two USAW sanctioned Olympic lifting meets on September 13, 2009 and December 6, 2009.  These a developments meets, so our athletes can develop their O lift skills.  We are adding an Olympic lifting class on Tuesdays nights at 7:30 please join us and get some work on your lifts.

2)  Saturday 9 am class is free for all our athletes Family and Friends.  Starting this Saturday July 25, 2009 it will be held at Serrano Middle School off Lake Forest Dr. and Jeronimo.  Please ask us for directions if you need them.   We will still have open gym at 10:15 am

3)  We would like to have "Get Dunked" at the gym to test everyone's body fat.  We need 30 people in order to book this event.  The cost is $40 per person.  Please see L or Z  to sign up.  Our goal is for everyone to do this at least every 6 months, so we can see all of our improvements!

4)  Music....we are always looking for new music, so if you would like to create a play list please put it on a disc and we will add it to our IPOD for classes. 

5)  We now have a water tank available for our athletes.  If everyone could donate $5 a month to keep endless water supply for everyone!  Thank you.

CrossFit WOD:

3-rep Overhead Squat plus
Max total pull-ups in 3 attempts

This will be done as an individual, with the weight that was lifted added to the total number of pullups performed in the three sets.  The standard for the pullups are normal chin-over-the-bar pullups.  No chest-to-bar pullups allowed.  Actually, they are allowed, you just don't get any extra credit for the extra work.  There is a 10 minute cap for each event, so use your time wisely.
